It is a privilege to serve mankind for this is the God ,God is here in all these human souls | He is the soul of man

Born in Hamirpur, in an economically modest rural family in 22-October-1963 , ashish Gautam was different from other children of the family.Even as a student, both at the village school and in Allahabad University he attracted attention for his philosophical bend of mind and his spiritual attitude. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda set him on the path of self realization. He came in contact with many religious and social organizations including the RSS. But his restless mind forced him to seek peace in the Himalayas. After several years of penance and study Ashishjee decided to come back to the larger society. He felt that his primary duty is to serve man whom Vivekananda called his God.

Soon destiny brought him amongst the most miserable and detested people who resided in temporary hutments on the banks of Ganga, just across the famous bathing Ghats of haridwar. It was a colony of leapers. Many of them had cored their ulcers. I did not know much about leprosy or the ulcers; I just started to learn from the very patients I wanted to serve. Says Ashish. But soon several of his friends and class fellows joined him and he was no longer alone.

This is how a small dispensary came in existence in a small room with thatched roof. They called it Samidha-offerings in yagnya.

In a few months one Hut grew into a cluster of huts and Sewa Kunj, a service center was founded. This was the sapling which later grew into the magnificent tree we call Divya Prem Sewa Mission. This is his home, his temple and his Gurukul as well.
